Reading Between the Stripes

Description: The project involves designing a book for the guidebook, The United States Constitution, What It Says, What It Means too commemorate the 25th anniversary of the The Annenberg Public Policy Center. This book written by Donald A. Ritchie is meant to inform the citizens of the United States about the importance of being aware about the constitution.

Concept: The  featured spread is about the 19th amendment, which covers the women’s voting rights. The gender gap and the underrepresentation of women as voters can be shown through playing with the spacing of type, using visual references of  a woman’s face that show each parts and pieces in a collage style, and making repetitions of her mouth, which represents finding one’s voice.
